I played with contrasting fibers such as rust dyed natural silk against a shiny metallic, natural linen braided with coated yarns. For this collection I especially enjoyed this playful take on geometry. I used crushed and folded on lines, grids, dots and stripes to create the designs. More recently I am interested in natural dyes and yarns. I prefer natural and unusual yarns to dye. The collection was a black and white story that featured prints inspired by safari. I wanted to play with yarns that I had rusted and use black as main color story. This was coincidentally was the same place where I shot the very first collection. The prints designed in this collection were inspired by the quiet of fall and winter. It was a challenging project and my first time working in a large scale with fiber techniques such as knotting and netting for a commercial project. It was excellent opportunity to problem solve and collaborate with other designers.
