<image:caption>Examples of 16 element Kumihimo structures that play with the ideas of revealing and hiding elements of the braid structure. I played with contrasting fibers such as rust dyed natural silk against a shiny metallic, natural linen braided with coated yarns. Also cutting yarns at points but keeping part of the structure in tact to add more dimension.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - Deconstructed Geometry</image:title>
<image:caption>For every print collection I designed each silk-screen. For this collection I especially enjoyed this playful take on geometry. I used crushed and folded on lines, grids, dots and stripes to create the designs. I liked the idea of structure and perfect geometry collapsing, manipulated and transformed.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - Indigo Rust Saffron</image:title>
<image:caption>I have always mixed my own dyes and colors. More recently I am interested in natural dyes and yarns. I prefer natural and unusual yarns to dye. This series of dyed yarns are made of paper, linen, and undegummed silk yarns in a range of natural dyes such as indigo, rust, and saffron.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I was invited to share a collection of jewelry to be shown at the Old Navy corporate head quarters store. The collection was a black and white story that featured prints inspired by safari. I wanted to play with yarns that I had rusted and use black as main color story. It was my chance to experiment with materials such as rubber, bone, coated yarns, and shrink tube.</image:caption>

<image:caption>For my final and 10th collection I had the opportunity to shoot at the historic San Francisco Art Institute. This was coincidentally was the same place where I shot the very first collection. The prints designed in this collection were inspired by the quiet of fall and winter. The shadows made from cool and subtle light casting patterns on the ground.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - Metallic Burn-out</image:title>
<image:caption>I'm fascinated by man made materials and the qualities and possibilities to manipulate and transform them. I took the concept of burn-out and removed the metallic surface from the material leaving the sheer polyester.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work</image:title>
<image:caption>I had the opportunity to create and co-design with San Francisco's Phoenix Day Lighting and Los Angeles based design house Studio-collective. It was a challenging project and my first time working in a large scale with fiber techniques such as knotting and netting for a commercial project. It was excellent opportunity to problem solve and collaborate with other designers. We had to create a structurally sound net that could disguise all the electrical and structural elements but keep the feeling of a light organic fiber type net.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I have always treated silk-screening as just one of the tools I use in my textile dyeing process. From the start I create all my prints from either photographs, collages, or found images. I mix all my dyes that relate to a specific collection color palette, mood or feeling I'm trying to represent. I use hand painting and other traditional dyeing techniques to layer and create my own painted surfaces.</image:caption>
